Creating a Study of a Play in Performance

So you’re planning to study a performance of a Shakespeare play! Perhaps you have an essay assignment, or you’ve been cast in a role in a performance, or you’ve accepted the responsibility of designing, costuming, or even directing a specific script. However, you don’t know where to start.

This module will guide you through the process of studying a play in performance, from the initial point of choosing a performance to the final write-up about the performance, whether it’s a program note, a review, a critical essay, advice to an actor or director, etc. Along the way, you’ll visit different parts of this site, and get to know the resources that are housed here.

Want to see some examples of how to use the module? Visit Module Example 1: King Lear or Module Example 2: Much Ado About Nothing to see the module in action, step by step.
