A Midsummer Night's Dream: Director:Peter Hall:Designer: Lila De Nobili, Royal Shakespeare Company, April 1962
"The first glimpse of Lila de Nobili's sets and costumes for Peter Hall's re-production of his 'Dream' suggests a move in the opposite direction. We seem at first to share the very bareness of Shakespeare's own Globe. There is the same jutting stage, the same galleries, the same central recess at the back. But the curtain has not been up very long before there is a puff of smoke, light behind the gauze backcloth and voila as pretty a wood as you could ever hope to have a midsummer dream in."
