Isabella Glyn Dallas first appeared in Manchester under her mother's maiden name of Glyn in 1847, as Constance in Shakespeare's King John. She appeared at the Olympic in London as Lady Macbeth on in 1848. She played at Sadler's Wells Theatre from 1848-1851. She also gave recitals at Boston, U.S.A in 1870, and, Shakespearian readings at Steinway Hall and at St. James in 1878 and 1879. She ended her career as a theatrical instructor, and as the last adherent of the Kemble school of acting. William Hoskins was noted both as a Shakespearean scholar and a brilliant actor in light comedy, fitting him for the part of Lucio. He died in Australia where he was much appreciated as "one of the last actors of the old school of Macready and Phelps, and the ablest and most cultivated man who ever "held the mirror up to nature" in the Australian Colonies."
