Ruins of the Gibbons's Tennis Court Theatre, which was previously used as a temporary theatre by Killigrew, at the Restoration. He soon moved to the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, which he designed and built. This Tennis Court illustrates the adaptation of pre-existing space for theatrical uses, as frequently practiced in 16th and 17th century London.
