Lewis Waller (1860-1915) as Benedick and Winifred Emery as Beatrice. The costume of Beatrice rivals Queen Elizabeth I's own flamboyant attire in her formal portraits. The expressions of both actors are curiously stylized, by modern taste. Benson staged the play in 1906, 1908, 1911, etc.
