Anne overpowers the resistance of John Tanner.

In Man and Superman John Tanner resists love exactly as strenuously as Benedick at the start of Much Ado, with equal ineffectiveness in the end. Anne and Tanner spar wittily in abusing eachother in the same manner as Beatrice and Benedick.
