Robert Burns Birthplace in Alloway.
In 1818, as part of an extensive and strenuous tour of Scotland, John Keats visited Robert Burns's first home in Alloway, and wrote his sonnet, "Written in the Cottage Where Burns Was Born." Shakespeare often savors the kind of rural culture from which Burns emerged, as in As You Like It and The Winter's Tale. Courtesy of the Yorck Project, under GNU Free Document License.
