Pardise Lost as Biblical Drama, 1985: Adam and Eve in their first happy condition.
The epic was first conceived by Milton as a play, as staged in the Maude Fife Room by the U.C.B. Shakespeare Program. The progression of the marriage between Adam and Eve has much in common with Restoration comedies, though less explicit sexually. The two-hour production is partly recorded in Milton by Himself distributed by Films for the Humanities. Image: UCB Shakespeare Program Collection, photographer Velma Bourgeois Richmond.
