Portrait of Marguerite de Valois.
Though as witty and dynamic as the Princess in Love's Labours Lost, the historical Marguerite proved more promiscuous. However, the language at least of the ladies in the play is often quite obscene too. The picture is of oil on wood, after François Clouet; located in the Musée Condé, Chantilly.
