Château de Chenonceau - west view from the Catherine de Medici Gardens

This chateau was one of Catherine's favorites: she was furious when her husband King Henry II gave it to his mistress, Diane de Poitiers, and she seized it back from her when Henry died in an accident. She spent a lot of effort on the gardens. See next two images.
