King Henry VI

Unfortunately for Henry VI his mother Catherine de Valois bequeathed to him the madness apparent in her father, leading to his protracted periods of catatonia and ineffective leadership. Shakespeare shows him as morally intense and politically and militarily incompetent. However, he did found Eton College and King's College of Cambridge University, with its magnificent chapel.
