King Henry VI, Part 3 (V.vi.57): The murder of Henry VI in the Tower of London by Richard of Gloucester.
This illustration seems to show a plausible staging of the scene, set in the Tower, from Nicholas Rowe's edition of Shakespeare's works (1709). In Colley Cibber's version of Richard III, this scene opens that play, and perhaps this adaptation invited a possible staging, though the scene was banned from Cibber's performances. Note the full 17th c. wig worn by Henry.
