Hamlet at the Adelphi Theatre, London, 4th April, 1905. Ophelia: Lily Brayton.
"Miss Lily Brayton gives a pretty, unaffected study of Ophelia. She is a little apt, perhaps, to attach more importance to the rhythmical delivery of her lines than to the deeper meaning of them. Yet Miss Brayton realises perfectly the weakness, the helplessness of this beautiful, unintelligent creature, who, even in happier circumstances, could never have been a suitable companion for Hamlet, and to whom in his torment he feels it vain to turn for sympathy and understanding."(Daily Mail, London, 5th April,1905) Photo as published in 'The Play Pictorial' Vol. VI, No. 34 (1905).
