Will Kemp performing a Jig with a Taborer from the Frontispiece of Nine Days Wonder (1600). He died in 1608.
Kemp performed many clown parts for Shakespeare, including Peter in Romeo and Juliet and Dogberry in Much Ado. Though a sharer in the new Globe Theatre he left the company soon after. He was particularly noted for his jigs which concluded plays with songs, dances, and satirical allusions.
