Will Caesar meet the Senate? (2.2) California Shakespeare Theatre production, 2003, directed by Jonathan Moscone.
Note the diversity of costumes, a mixture of modern and ancient Roman. Calpurnia (Domenique Lozano) is a true Roman matron, but the guards are dressed like the FBI. Caesar (L. Peter Callender) wears something that could be a modern or Roman dressing gown; Cassius (James Carpenter) has a kind of ancient Roman business suit but wears spectacles and carries a modern brief-case. Antony (Andy Murray) looks vaguely like a Greek athlete in his leathers and kilt. The mixture of styles matches the famous picture of the Elizabethan costumes from another Roman play, Titus Andronicus, by Henry Peacham, circa 1595 (see Gallery 2, p. 4, image 12).
