Troilus and Cressida (V.ii.40): Troilus, accompanied by Ulysses, overhears Cressida's seduction by Diomedes, with Thersites watc
This illustration, perhaps showing a stage production of Dryden's version, comes from the fourth volume of Nicholas Rowe's edition of Shakespeare's works (1709). We can clearly see the multiple points of view involved in the scene: Thersites watches Ulysses restrain Troilus' indignation as they all observe Diomedes courting Cressida. See Gallery 12, Section 7 for more data about Dryden and Shakespeare.
