Spranger Barry (1717-1777 made his stage debut in Dublin as Othello.

Both Garrick and Barry worked at Dublin's Crow Street and later both worked at Covent Garden and Drury Lane Theatres. Othello was one of Spranger Barry's most popular parts, but one in which Garrick did not succeed.
